Beautiful Bambu Bali Cooking Class – Nusa Dua

Discover the exotic spiced flavours of Bali’s, Bambu Bali cooking classes offer a fascinating introduction in to the exotic ingredients and unique culinary heritage of Bali. They provide a valuable insight into the various techniques of food preparation and the cooking style used in our island homes.

Classes start with an early morning visit to the local vegetable and fish market where many of the ingredients are purchased for the day’s program, including spices, meat, chicken, cakes and the freshest available seafood. Visitors will witness and experience the very busy, early morning activities of the local community, who is eager to finish their shopping well before 8.00 am.

The next stop will be on the beach with Ibu Nyoman who is collecting the fish from the returning fishing fleet. After a satisfying breakfast of Balinese cakes, fruits, black rice pudding and a bowl of tender sweet rice flour dumplings in palm sugar coconut sauce, we will leave the comfort of the dining pavilion and enter the wide open Balinese kitchen.

Dressed in black and white aprons and a copy of 20 recipes participants will be guided into the many secrets, and flavours of Bali and at the same time, discover and feel the peacefulness of a harmonious Balinese home.

Casa Luna Cooking Class – Ubud

The Casa Luna Cooking School classes provide a fascinating insight into Balinese life, beliefs and culture through learning about its food, cooking and culinary myths. Class discussions are relaxed and friendly and are held in the elegant grounds of the Second Honeymoon Guesthouse.

They include specific references to the role of food in Balinese society, its ceremonial use and religious importance. Participants learn about the exotic herbs and spices used in ceremonial and everyday Balinese dishes and are encouraged to actively help prepare the lavish Balinese feast that will then be enjoyed with a glass or two of the local rice wine or homemade hibiscus tea.

With its mouthwatering menu, eclectic gallery and breathtaking views of the Tjampuhan River, it’s easy to see why Indus has been an Ubud favorite for nearly 10 years in this magical setting, extending to you their warmest welcome to participate in a delicious selection of unique culinary experiences and to enjoy this amazing hospitality. The Honeymoon Bakery is situated near the original Honeymoon resturant and the Casa Luna cooking school is just across the road at second Honeymoon. Sourcing the freshest local produce to create dishes as inspired with Bali’s exotic surroundings. Paon Bali, Cooking Class Ubud

Embark on a culinary adventure unlocking the secrets of authentic Balinese cooking, utilising traditional ingredients and preparation methods, in a fully equipped community village kitchen. Your day starts early at the Ubud markets, where you can pick from fresh herbs & spices, crisp vegetables and choice cuts of meat, before heading off on guided ‘padi’expeditions. Upon your return to Laplapan village, you will be warmly welcomed and expertly guided by your host, Puspa, who will help you to discover how to create your very own delicious authentic Balinese dishes. All classes are conducted in English by Balinese chef’s, enjoy the relaxed friendly atmosphere in the beautiful kitchen garden. All the produce is locally grown and harvested. You will also experience how to make a Balinese offering an experience you will not forget. Discover Balinese family life by exploring Laplapan Village, chatting with local farmers.
